Welcome Parish Reps! We can't tell you how happy we are to have your help with this exciting endeavor. Our vision is to renew, refresh, and recreate the Catholic women in South Carolina through a conference experience. We'd like as many women as possible to be a part of this! You are the link that can make this possible.
We've tried to make this as easy as possible for you. Below, we have timelines and suggested promotions to do during these times. Of course, you can do these tasks in a manner that fits both your situation and that of your parish.
Our first step is prayer. So please say this prayer now:
"Heavenly Father, Your love for me surpasses anything I can understand. Your Holy Spirit fills my life in ways I don't comprehend. Please bless my efforts to spread the word about this conference to the women I contact. Please touch their hearts, minds and spirits, to encourage them to come to this event so that we all can begin to understand Your love for us and to better experience the Holy Spirit in our lives. Amen. "
Remember: You do not need to do this alone!!! Please get a few women to help with these tasks.
Read over all of these suggestions and mark on your calendar when you want to do them. For items like mass announcements or meeting with groups, you may need to secure those times soon.
Put "Save the Date" announcements in the bulletin and parish website. (See below for examples and a picture you can use.)
Email TamiKiser@yahoo.com to let her know how many postcards you think you can use.
Join the Belong Parish Rep private Facebook group below if you haven't already. Please post a "Hello" to let us know who you are and what parish you belong to.
Handout postcards (These can be passed out after the Masses by a group of women. Remember, personally handing these to someone and inviting them can make a difference.) If you haven't received yours yet, please contact TamiKiser@yahoo.com to receive yours.
Put event on parish website. Choose from pictures below.
Visit the women's groups at your parish and make an announcement about the conference. This could be the Women's Bible study, the Mom's group, the Bereavement group, etc. This could be any group at your parish that has a group of women present. Ask to come at the beginning or end of their regular meeting and read one of the announcements below. (Please encourage the leader of the group to see if they are interested in getting a group together and refer them to the website for group information.) An alternative would be to simply talk to someone who attends the meeting and ask them to make the announcement or see if their group is interested in attending together. Follow through with an email to the leader if possible. *If the group has an email list--write a group email with the conference announcement and links for the conference website.
Print out single page flyers to put on bulletin boards, doors, women's restrooms, etc. We have both black and white and color.
Use Social Media. If your church has a Facebook page, see if you can post and share a picture there. You can use the pictures below or use a post from the conference Facebook page and just share it. You can also share posts to other Facebook pages associated with your parish--like a Mom's group Facebook page or a Knights of Columbus Facebook page.
If there are any email lists for your parish, see if you can email the flyer or a simple announcement.
February 7, 8 Saturday and Sunday Mass Announcements
Choose announcement to put into the bulletins. If you are not sure how to do this, just ask your parish secretary.
Get permission to make an announcement before or after mass (if your parish does this) Use one of the announcements below, or compose your own.
If you have permission from your pastor, make half page or full page fliers to put into the bulletins or to hand out at Mass.
Until the conference
Anything you didn't complete above, feel free to do it the rest of the month. Many women do not commit to coming to a conference until the week before. There will be many women on the fence.
Make sure the announcements are still in the bulletin--up until the weekend before.
If you haven't made an announcement from the pulpit before or after mass, please consider getting someone to do this--even ask Father if he could say something about this and encourage the women to attend. Print out the information below and give it to him.
Announcements to read or put into your bulletins: (Mix and Match these to suit your needs)
